Bay Colony in Virginia Beach is one of the few neighborhoods that allows for quiet living away from traffic, but is still within biking distance to the beach. Chick’s Beach, The North End, Shadowlawn, and Croatan are other neighborhoods very close to the beach, but Bay Colony offers that residential feel with winding streets and private driveways that can be hard to come by so close to the beach. Bay Colony has the perfect mix of quiet residential and beach living. If your price range is over about $600,000, Bay Colony will be near the top of your list of favorite neighborhoods.

Tucked away behind the Cavalier and the Princess Anne Country Club, the streets of Bay Colony seem fairly random. Before you know it you could get lost! There are about 600 homes in Bay Colony and prices start at about $500,000 and stretch well into the millions, even for lots that are not on the water. Needless to say, the lots are large and wooded and the homes come in all shapes and sizes. The history in Bay Colony runs deep. It’s worth taking a look at the Bay Colony Civic League web page for more info.
Bay Colony, live close to where you play!
The Princess Anne Country Club should not be overlooked, even if you don’t play golf. It is a social gathering place for many Bay Colony residents and includes a pool, tennis courts, and dining. Having such a fantastic facility practically in the neighborhood is just one of many things that makes Bay Colony one of the best neighborhoods in Virginia Beach.
While there is no marina in Bay Colony, there is plenty of deep water access. The back of Bay Colony is on the Linkhorn Bay, which connects to Broad Bay, the Chesapeake Bay and beyond! The Cavalier has a fantastic marina and is another great option for a country club in the area.
